RC 5.0 includes greatly improved support for the legacy []WI system function. RC 5.0 also contains many enhancements to the Visual Studio Forms Designer integration, which makes for a much improved experience when designing forms!

This webcast will showcase a few of the new features released in RC 5.0. The features that will be shown in this webcast include:

[]WI

One of the most exciting new features in RC 5.0 is the substantially enhanced legacy []WI support. This support means that most every important method, property, and event used in []WI based systems is now supported using the []WI plugin for Visual APL.

After covering some basic []WI support, this webcast will demonstrate some of the more advanced aspects of []WI, which are fully supported in this version of Visual APL. This support includes the creation of user defined controls using the onNew and onAction event system, and full Visual Studio debugging integration for stepping and stopping in these advanced event handlers.

This update to []WI also means that most of the legacy GUI code in APL applications can be copied directly into Visual APL and run with few or no modifications, and be easily extended using .Net objects.

Forms Designer

RC 5.0 includes many enhancements which improve integration with the Visual Studio Forms Designer.

This webcast will show how to use some of these new Forms Designer enhancements.

These updates range from better cursor positioning on auto event generation, to much improved Forms Designer property sheet integration.
