This webcast will show how to create User Controls in Visual APL and expose those controls as COM objects, which can be used on APL+Win Forms created with []WI. You will also see a simple example of integrating the Visual APL Engine into a C# application.

Publishing Visual APL User Controls as COM

Custom User Controls are a type of .Net class that allow you to create a complex GUI object that appears as a single object when it is used on a Windows Form. A Custom User Control can contain many sub controls and complex UI handling code, but when it is used on a Windows Form it appears just like any other control on the Form, such as a ListView or a Button.

The primary advantage of Custom User Controls is that they can be transparenty used from any .Net language, and even be exposed through COM.

This webcast will demonstrate how to create a User Control which can be used both in the Visual Studio Forms Designer, and also on a Form created with []WI in APL+Win.

Visual APL Engine

This webcast will also show how to use the Visual APL Engine to create a backend scripting platform for an application.

Integrating scripting engines into new or existing applications has traditionally been a time consuming task. The Visual APL Engine exposes the full functionality of the Visual APL session in an object that can be easily integrated into any .Net application, with very little programming effort.
