This webcast will show integration stability improvements in the Windows Forms Designer, how to use Resource Files to store arbitrary application data, and the .Net Configuration Manager to persist application state.

Improved Forms Designer integration

Visual APL RC 6.8 contains numerous low-level enhancements which improve the stability and speed of Visual APL's integration with the Visual Studio Windows Forms Designer. To show these speed and usage improvements, this WebCast will show how to create and integrate a Start Page into your Visual APL Windows Application, which presents news and important information to the user every time they open your application.

Resource Files

.Net managed Resource files allow you to store arbitrary data that is accessible by your application at runtime in a structured and maintainable format. This WebCast will show how to you can create Resource files in Visual Studio using a visual Resource file designer, compile Resource files into the .Net managed Resource file format using ResGen, and then how to retrieve information from those resource files in your application at runtime.

Configuration Files

To complete the demo application, this WebCast will show how to use the System.Configuration namespace to store and persist settings used by your application. The ConfigurationManager provides a robust and thorough configuration persistence system, allowing you to save application settings that are Machine wide, User specific, and even Roaming-User specific.
