This weeks webcast covers some important changes in the next RC of Visual APL, and creating CLS compliant events in Visual APL.
This webcast will announce the new file extension for Visual APL files, “.APL“. Visual APL projects created in Visual Studio with RC 3.1 or earlier stored code in files with the “.CV“ extension, and as of Visual APL RC 3.2 these projects will no longer open directly into Visual Studio. This webcast will show how to bring these older format projects into the newer format.
This webcast will also show how to create and expose a CLS compliant event in a Visual APL class, and consume that event (i.e. subscribe and unsubscribe) in both Visual APL and C#. The code pattern for exposing events in a CLS compliant manner is very strict, and example code for creating your own event in Visual APL will be posted after this webcast has concluded.
