A Request

Postby Ajay Askoolum » May 24th, 2014, 11:08 am

In the Quick Start PDF, could you add the following:

1. The version number of the latest release.
2. An appendix containing 2 columns where the first column enumerates the contents of CSE Code Samples (as it appears in Windows Explorer) and the second column contains a brief synopsis of what the sample illustrates.

?
PS: Have I got the latest version:

⎕cse 'GetVersionNumber'
1.0.102.0

?

No. The latest CSE version distributed with APL+Win v14.1 is 1.0.108.

CSE Quickstart Guide requests

Postby joe_blaze » May 28th, 2014, 1:48 am

Hi Ajay,

An updated version of the CSE Quickstart Guide will be posted shortly by the Forum administrator.
In this updated version the footnote indicates the latest APL+Win version v14.1.
Note that the examples included in the Quickstart guide have been selected so that they will 'work' in any production version of the APLNext C# Script Engine.

The next version of the CSE Manual, currently in preparation, will include a table which provides a short description of each example in the Code Samples folder workspaces as well as a link to the associated location in the Manual. I don't think that it would be appropriate to put that table in the Quickstart Guide because it is intended to be a simple introduction to the CSE.

The installer for the latest version of APL+Win, which can be downloaded by subscribers, includes the CSE installer so that these two components are easily kept in synchronization.
