Postby Tech Support » November 21st, 2011, 2:44 pm

APL2000 is pleased to announce that the VisualAPL for Visual Studio 2008 product is now available in Express (demonstration / evaluation) and Professional (production) versions.

Before using the installer it is recommended that information available on the APL2000 Forum for VisualAPL be carefully reviewed especially:
  1. Installing VisualAPL: http://forum.apl2000.com/viewtopic.php?t=415
  2. Vista Installation Notes: http://forum.apl2000.com/viewtopic.php?t=367
  3. EULA: http://forum.apl2000.com/viewtopic.php?t=403
  4. VisualAPL Activation: http://forum.apl2000.com/viewtopic.php?t=412
  5. VisualAPL Activation Dialogs: http://forum.apl2000.com/viewtopic.php?t=419

The same installer is used for the Express and Professional versions since, other than the license period, these versions are identical.

To license VisualAPL please contact sales@apl2000.com or your local APL2000 international dealer http://www.apl2000.com/intldealers.php .

If you have licensed VisualAPL or an APL2000 subscriber, you can post your questions, comments and suggestions to the VisualAPL forum, http://forum.apl2000.com/viewforum.php?f=4 . If not, submit your questions to support@apl2000.com.

The following Visual Studio 2008 development systems are supported:

Visual Studio 2008 Standard
Visual Studio 2008 Professional
Visual Studio 2008 Team Suite
VS2008 VSTO
Visual Studio 2008 Architect Edition
Visual Studio 2008 Development Edition
Visual Studio 2008 Test Edition

Note that the following Visual Studio 2008 development systems are not supported by the VisualAPL for Visual Studio installer:

Visual Studio 2008 Express
Visual Studio 2008 Database Edition

APLNext LLC may develop VisualAPL support for these 'other' versions of Visual Studio 2008 in the future.

Note 1: Always un-install the prior version of VisualAPL before installing a new version.

Note 2: The VisualAPL installer 1.5.8060 is currently designed for Visual Studio 2008 using the 'US English' GUI.

Note 3: The VisualAPL project templates are installed to the Visual Studio 2008 '...\1033\...' subdirectory and may not be visible in a version of Visual Studio 2008 for another language GUI.

Note 4: See the message posted "Wed Apr 01, 2009 5:00 pm" which is part of this forum thread, that describes how to copy the VisualAPL project templates installed into the '1033' subdirectory to a different language-dependent subdirectory.

Note 5: The default keyboard short cuts for the APL character glyphs are also designed for the 'US English' keyboard.

Note 6: Depending on the level of interest of VisualAPL licensees, APLNext may develop support for Visual APL for Visual Studio 2008 in other language GUI's.
