IPv6 and 64 bit

Postby Chizever » June 12th, 2007, 11:22 am

I have questions about web services.

1. Does APLWebServices work on 64-bit machines? If not, are there plans to have it work?

2. Are there plans to update APLWebServices to IPv6? If so, when.

Thanks,
Brian

Yes, APLWebServices works on 64-bit machines. I'm awaiting a response from the developers on the question on support for IPv6.

Great. What version of APLWebServices works on 64bit machines. I'm still on v1 and was wondering if this would require an update to version 2.

All versions of APLWebServices work on 64-bit machines. But using the current version is always recommended in order to receive continued support.

Note: Version 1.x of APLWebServices does run on 64-bit hardware, but because it is compiled as 32-bit .NET assembly, it cannot take advantage of the 64-bit hardware.

It is possible to implement IPv6 in APLWebServices. But it is not practical to do so at this time due to insufficient demand. If this is something you or anyone else requires in the near future, arrangements could be made to do this enhancement on a consulting basis. If interested, please send an e-mail to support@apl2000.com.
